Kent State Tuscarawas University Band Presents Spring Concert

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas University Band will present a concert at 7 p.m. on April 24, 2018 in the Performing Arts Center theatre. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The concert is open to the public and is free of charge.

 

With a theme of "A Springtime Celebration," the performance will include a variety of chorales, marches, jazz numbers, world music, and cinematic works. Directed by James Graves, the University Band is a wind ensemble composed of Kent State Tuscarawas students, community musicians and talented high school students. 

 

James Graves is an adjunct professor of music at Kent State Tuscarawas. He also is an elementary music teacher and middle school band director for Dover City Schools. Mr. Graves received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Grove City College in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Mount Union in 2016. He is a member of the Dominic Greco Band. 

 

While University Band is a one-credit-hour course offered for students, participation is also open to community members. The band rehearses on Thursday's, beginning on August 23, 2018, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
