FAMIS is a facility maintenance work order system that allows University Facilities Management managers and supervisors the ability to capture and manage all individual employee labor hours for each work order. Stock materials from the UFM Business and Supply Stockroom used to complete work orders are acquired through the FAMIS Online Store, which may be accessed from any computer on campus. All parts purchased through the Online Store are required to have a work order number, which allows the parts to be tracked and allocated appropriately.
In past practice, faculty and staff were required to enter work requests through the legacy Work Order System. These requests were manually entered into the FAMIS system via data entry. Effective August 9, 2010, University Facilities Management and Residence Services collaborated resources and developed a new Self Service system that allows all faculty, staff and students to use one system to enter requests for service. This system is called FlashTrack, which is interfaced directly with FAMIS and automatically routes work orders to the appropriate crew to perform the services or repair.
