Emergency Service Requests
In the event of an emergency repair condition which poses immediate danger to personnel or property, i.e. flooding, a broken window, electrical short, please call 330-672-2345, the 24 hour service telephone number.
The Flash Track System is offered to Kent State University staff and faculty in an effort to expedite, monitor and track maintenance, repair and custodial services throughout the Kent Campus.
To request services during the work day, please access Flash Track. It can also be accessed through FlashLine. Select Employee / Workflows / Maintenance/FAMIS / Flash Track to create a work order when requesting repair or maintenance of existing facilities and building equipment.
This process is also required when planning maintenance, repair, groundskeeping, and custodial services for events scheduled through the University Scheduling or Intercollegiate Athletics offices.
After Hours Requests
Emergencies, After Hour or Weekend services should be entered via Flash Track, but may be expedited by contacting your area desk or a Resident Assistant (RA). If you are unable to contact the area desk or RA, please call 330-672-2345 for immediate assistance.
Residence Hall Service Requests
For Residence Hall maintenance requests, students may submit a request through Flash Track or by contacting their Residence Services Area Desk.
Heating and Cooling (HVAC) Equipment Scheduling and Building Lighting Requests
Please complete the Building Heating and Cooling Scheduling Request (PDF) form to schedule air and heat services for your department classes, special events, office hours, seminars, workshops, etc. This form is also used for building lighting requests where lights are controlled by the University Building Automation System. Please have the Building Curator sign and date the form and fax to 330-672-9288.
Building Improvements and Enhancements
All improvements and enhancements to Kent Campus buildings, offices, and grounds that require advance planning and scheduling of the skilled trade shops at University Facilities Management may also require approval and participation of the Office of the University Architect. Please note that special requests generally require the identification of funding for the project or service.
For any projects that require blueprints, drawings, or additional information beyond that which is included in the "description of work," please indicate the Work Request Number on all documentation and fax to 330-672-2956.
