The Body Project
The Body Project at Kent State University is a student organization that strives to empower individuals to challenge the appearance ideal and embrace the unique beauty of themselves and others. The Body Project holds biweekly meetings in addition to research-based peer led discussion groups. The discussion groups are part of a national dissonance-based body-acceptance program designed to help women identified individuals resist cultural pressures to conform to the appearance ideal standard of beauty and reduce their pursuit of unrealistic bodies.
