Photo-Illustration Presents: Composed Voices, 2017 Senior Showcase Exhibition
Kent State University is pleased to present Composed Voices, featuring eight photographers in the 2017 Senior Showcase Exhibition at Group Ten Gallery in downtown Kent on May 12 . This capstone will feature work from the School of Visual Communication Design’s Photo-illustration program, which prepares students for careers in studio and illustrative commercial photography.
Photo-illustrators are intermediaries between clients and their audiences, acting as interpreters and messengers in photographic form for commerce, industry and culture at large. The goal is to communicate core ideas to others through photographs and design.
The work in this exhibition conveys the dedication and innovation of the students as expressed through their dynamically unique voices. These individual styles and strengths have been fostered from the valuable skills taught throughout the program.
Comprised of a wide array of projects, this impressive collection spans diverse commercial genres of still-life, portrait, fashion and editorial photography. These works are founded upon a strong understanding and respect for craft, as it applies to both visual aesthetics and technical execution.
As a tight-knit group, it is with utmost excitement that these students present: Composed Voices.
