
Khalil Dixon
Biography
Khalil D. Dixon is a marketing and public relations communication specialist for Kent State University’s School of Visual Communication Design, responsible for marketing programs, brand management, Web content, media relations, internal communications and community outreach.
Prior to joining Kent State, Dixon helped individuals and nonprofit organizations to develop comprehensive strategic communications programs to better position them with their target audience groups. His greatest strengths are his creativity, drive and leadership. He thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand an organization’s reach.
Dixon sits on the Board of Directors for the Akron chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is also a member of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) and User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) organizations.
The Cleveland native supports and participates at fund-raising events for organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank. He has also done work for the United Way, including managing workplace campaigns for Akron-area businesses as a Loaned Executive for United Way of Summit County.
Dixon, who is pursuing an MS in User Experience Design (UXD), graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University, earning a BS in Communication Studies coupled with a minor in marketing. Khalil is also a member of Kappa Tau Alpha academic fraternity, which recognizes academic excellence in journalism and mass communication.
