Opportunities in Visual Communication Design
Learning is lifelong, and it happens in and outside of the classroom. Coursework in VCD provides the foundational and professional skills to excel, but we believe it’s integral build upon your degree experience with personal, professional and creative growth.
Faculty and advisors urge students to apply the foundational skills they learn in their freshman and sophomore years to internships, gain professional insight from student organizations like AIGA Kent and get their hands dirty in the Type High Press Lab.
Students in the School of Visual Communication Design have peppered their degree experience with a broad variety of resume and portfolio builders, each one adding value. Glyphix, the student staff design firm, short-term or semester long study abroad programs and summer workshops in environmental graphic design are just a few.
