The National Society of Leadership and Success

The NSLS is the largest leadership honor society in the United States. Our NSLS chapter at Kent State University was started in 2009, with 6,030 alumni members. Our local chapter is part of the national organization with 823 chapters and over 2 million members. 

Students are selected based on exemplary academic achievement. As of 2024, Kent State University has 7,553 members who have access to:

What do I have to do to become inducted?

Our five-step program takes approximately 12 hours over the semester at your pace. 

Is this recognized on campus?

We are a Registered Student Organization (RSO). The NSLS is fully accredited by Cognia. In addition, our courses have been reviewed and recommended for credit reciprocity by ACE and NCCRS

You are likely not listed as President or Advisor and you’ll need to contact the Office of Student Activities to update the chapter’s information with the University.

HELP! We are listed as Sigma Alpha Pi, not NSLS.

The NSLS is primarily referred to as The National Society of Leadership and Success. We recommend you make the adjustment with the office who manages student organizations, and that should adjust how it is reflected throughout the system.

HELP! This link doesn’t work, and I can’t find NSLS using the search feature.

The chapter may be listed as Sigma Alpha Pi, try searching for that. Or the chapter may have become inactive with the Office of Student Activities. Reach out to them and let them know what you’re trying to accomplish and see how they can help you.
