Adding the Endorsement to Your Teaching License

In order to add the Computer/Technology Endorsement (#111770) to your Resident Educator or Professional Ohio teaching license, you must complete the Computer Technology Endorsement coursework and pass the Ohio Assessment Exam (OAE) in Computer/Technology. The Computer/Technology assessment contains two subtests: I (test code: 016) and II (test code: 017). Candidates must take and pass both subtests to qualify for an Ohio license in this field. You may take one or both subtests at one assessment appointment. For the OAE information, please visit: http://www.oh.nesinc.com

Upon successful completion of the endorsement coursework and OAE exam, students must complete the online Licensure Pre-Application found in the student portal. For instructions on how to navigate the Licensure Pre-Application process, please visit the Vacca Office of Student Services webpage How to Apply for an Educator License. Pay special attention to the section on Add(ing) an Endorsement or Teaching Field to an existing license?.  You will need to upload a signed Plan of Study during this process unless you have already submitted one to the Office of Graduate Student Services (418 White Hall). Once you have successfully completed and submitted your Licensure Pre-Application, the online system will connect you directly with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s online licensure system where you will complete the process and make payment.
