Alternative to flying direct to Florence: Fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport and utilize the train into and out of Florence: 

Train Instructions

  • Fly into Rome: Fiumicino Airport
  • Use the Leonardo Express to transfer from Fiumicino Airport Train (Airport Terminal) to Rome Termini Station (City Center)
    • 32 minute commute with trains arriving every 30 minutes
  • Change trains at Rome Termini Station (City Center)
  • Board Train at Rome Termini Station (City Center) to Santa Maria Novella (Florence City Center)
    • 1 hour 36 minute commute with trains running between Rome and Florence several times per hour
    • amenities on the train include air conditioning, electrical outlets, Wi-Fi, refreshment cart, restrooms and luggage racks
