MPower Men of Color Summit Oct. 14 Promises Connection, Celebration and Education

UPDATE:

The Male Empowerment Network at Kent State University will be hosting the inaugural MPower Men of Color Summit on Oct. 14. While all people are welcome to attend the summit, it will be a time to connect, celebrate and educate men of color.

The MPower Summit is designed to bring students, faculty and staff together from college, high school and community organizations to support the mission of men of color initiatives. The summit will be held at the Kent State Student Center.

“The Male Empowerment Network is celebrating 13 years of supporting men of color at Kent State University,” said Michael Daniels, Ph.D., director of the E. Timothy Moore Student Multicultural Center at Kent State. “My vision, as the advisor, was to host a local men of color conference during our 10-year anniversary celebration, however, that was fall of 2020, at the height of the COVID pandemic. Now, here we are, three years later with a reimagined vision of a national men of color summit about to come to fruition.”
