This black-and-white image, captured at Kent State University’s 2023 Fall Commencement, won an award in the University Photographers’ Association of America’s Monthly Image Competition for January 2024 in the category of General Features and Illustrations. (The color version of the photo is below.)
The photographer is Kent State’s Bob Christy, senior photography coordinator for University Communications and Marketing.
