Dr. Denise M. McEnroe-Petitte, RN

Dr. Denise McEnroe-Petitte has been a registered nurse since 1978.  She has worked in a variety of roles and settings including:  Coronary Care and Stepdown Unit, Intensive Care, Emergency Department, Skilled Nursing Home, Home Health, Manager of a Cardiovascular Physician Group, Management Roles in the Hospital, and Nursing Education.  Her primary areas of interest includes cardiovascular nursing with emphasis on heart failure.  She has been the facilitator of a heart failure support group for the past 16 years for patients and their caregivers.  In her educational role, Dr.

Jennifer Metheney, MSN, RN, CNE

I have been an RN for over 30 years and have taught at Kent State University College of Nursing since 2006. My specialties are geriatrics, chronic illness, and disability/rehabilitation. I am also a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) through the National League for Nursing (NLN) and was accepted into the Faculty Scholars Program at Kent State to develop a project related to teaching in higher education.

Christine Hudak, Ph.D., CPHIMS

A member of the SLIS faculty since 2012, Christine Hudak, Ph.D., brings more than 30 years of experience in the health care field to the position. She is widely recognized author, co-author, and presenter on topics relating to health informatics, and is a peer reviewer for numerous professional journals, including the Journal for Nursing Measurement, Journal of Professional Nursing, and the Journal of American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

Janet M. Reed RN, MSN

Janet Reed specializes in Medical-Surgical nursing, geriatrics, and creative innovations in nursing education. She has over a decade of nursing experience, including acute care, long term care, rehab nursing, travel nursing, and coaching students to become exceptional new nurses. 

Tracy L. Gidden, MSN, RN, PPCNP-BC, CNE

I am a certified Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner as well as a certified Nurse Educator. I have 27 years of experience as a nurse, 12 of those years in nursing education.

Sue L. Hritz, M.Ed., RN, LPC, PHN, CHT

I am a Public Health RN and professional counselor with 20+ years of experience in field of nursing and counseling and nearly 10 years in academia. I worked in OB/GYN/Nursery/NICU/Med-Surgical units, and as a Discharge Planner in a CA hospital, but for 15 years worked in the home care field as a case manager in a variety of teams and as a team leader. I have always had interests in mental/behavioral health and natural ways to promote health and wellness overall.

Marcy Caplin, MSN, RN, CNE

I have been teaching at Kent State College of Nursing since 2001, predominantly in the online RN-to-BSN concentration and MSN Nurse Educator concentration. I have a special interest in online education and the use of creative use of online technologies. Other online areas of interest include creating community of practice and maximizing group work potential.

Lisa Echeverry, DNP, RN, AGNP-BC

I have been teaching at Kent State University since 2008 in the Nurse Practitioner program and now in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program for which I am currently the Director. I have also been the Director of the NP programs and Director of the Adult-Gerontology program. I have been a nurse practitioner since 2002 and working for an internal medicine practice at the Cleveland Clinic.
