Carol M. Toncar, grants and contracts specialist, administration

Carol M. Toncar, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at her residence in Aurora. 

Born in Cleveland, Ohio on Oct. 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mae (Palek) Peterka. 

Mrs. Toncar grew up in Cleveland and was a graduate of John Adams High School. A resident of Aurora since 1966, she had been employed at Kent State University in the Administration Department as a grants and contracts specialist, retiring after over 40 years of service. 

She and her late husband, Frank, were longtime active members of DTJ. Mrs. Toncar loved her family, including the grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose love for her was only equal to her love for all of them. 

The memories created will forever be cherished by those who mourn her passing, including the holidays when family and their friends were treated to the cooking that she did for everyone. On June 14, 1952, she married her beloved husband, Frank W. Toncar, who preceded her in death in 2006. Also preceding were her devoted son, Mark F. Toncar, in 2013, and her devoted daughter, Jacqueline Sebastiano, in 2014, and her dear sister, Joyce Wason. 

Survivors include her devoted daughter Deborah Donovan of Port Clinton, Ohio; dear siblings Charles Peterka of New Jersey, George Peterka of Illinois, Joan Boytz of Nelson Township; 8 loving grandchildren and 4 loving great-grandchildren.
