Celebration to Be Held Oct. 28 to Remember Communication Studies Associate Professor

Rozell Duncan, Ph.D., associate professor in the School of Communication Studies at Kent State University, died Aug. 15 at the age of 67 years. To recognize her life and legacy, a celebration is planned for Friday, Oct. 28, from 4-6 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom Balcony. An array of speakers will talk about her life and impact.

“Consistent with who Rozell was, she was teaching two courses up until last week even though she was struggling with health issues,” said Elizabeth Graham, Ph.D., communication studies director. “Anyone in communication studies will tell you that Rozell was the ‘heart and soul’ of the program. She was the ‘go-to person’ on countless matters because everyone knew she could navigate even the most turbulent waters. Students and colleagues alike flocked to her door because they knew she was there for them. She was a true educator and a generous and kind person.”

An RSVP is not required to attend the celebration. All are welcome to attend.
