Last year, the division implemented The Greg Jarvie Students First Award to honor employees outside the division who are collaborative partners and keep students first.

The award was named in honor of Greg Jarvie, a Kent State University alumnus who served the university for 29 years as a residence hall director, dean of students, student ombuds and most recently as vice president of enrollment management and student affairs. Jarvie retired in July 2015.

“Greg was putting students first long before they became official strategic priorities because it was the right thing to do,” said Shay Little, vice president for student affairs.

This year’s honorees helped further the mission of the Division of Student Affairs and Kent State. They demonstrate their passion to put students first through both engagement and collaboration to promote the success of our students.
