Scott E. Swan
Regional Campus Center Manager
Kent State Geauga/Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg
My job is to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations at the Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg to ensure students, faculty, staff, guests and visitors have a safe and clean facility to learn, teach, work, study and grow. I serve as a resource for students and faculty and also participate in community outreach and local chamber meetings to promote Regional Academic Center room rentals for corporate and executive training.
WORKED AT KENT STATE SINCE:
July 2010. I also previously worked with Kent State from 2000-2003.
EMPLOYMENT PRIOR TO KENT STATE UNIVERSITY:
Greensboro College and Cuyahoga Community College (Metropolitan Campus)
LIKES MOST ABOUT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY:
I love the school spirit and pride that students and alumni have in their alma mater. My favorite place on campus is the Beck Family Memorial Garden located behind Merrill Hall in the “Behind the Brain Plaza,” which has a special meaning because it honors my family members who have graduated from Kent State University and Kent State Normal College. My wife and I were married there in 2008.
ATTRACTION TO KENT STATE UNIVERSITY AS AN EMPLOYER:
Kent State University has a plethora of academic offerings and tremendous support and resources for students to be successful and reach their goals. I enjoy being a part of Kent State University, knowing that our faculty and staff care for and contribute to the success of our students. Having grown up in Kent and as a proud Kent State graduate, I am grateful to be a part of a university that has overcome adversity, while embracing diversity. Kent State has given me so much, and it feels good to give something in return.
B.S., Elementary Education, Ohio University; M.Ed., Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel, Kent State University
I enjoy watching my kids participate in their extracurricular activities (soccer, choir, hockey refereeing) and our annual family vacation to Canada (Skeleton Lake – Muskoka). I’m an avid fisherman and love spending time on the water with my wife, kids, family and friends. I also enjoy traveling to new and adventurous places, most recently Glacier National Park in Montana.
