TechHelp's Train Your Brain tech training sessions are in high gear this fall, with ongoing popular course offerings on topics such as Microsoft Office, Adobe products and Blackboard Learn. Brand new sessions on topics including Introduction to iOS and Video Editing with Adobe Photoshop also are available and open for registration.
The Train Your Brain team added an introductory course on iOS as a result of user feedback and popular demand.
"IPhones and iPads are everywhere,” says Tom Mahon, manager of training and outreach with Kent State’s Division of Information Services. "We want to make sure our colleagues and students are getting the most out of not only their work and personal computers but also their mobile devices they use on the go. We think iOS training is a great start to making this happen."
In addition to mobile devices, video editing has become increasingly more popular. This led to the group adding a Photoshop video editing course in addition to the existing in-demand courses that teach Photoshop tips, tricks and in-depth design techniques.

The Training.kent.edu website, the university's go-to resource for tech training, allows Kent State students, staff and faculty members to view the semester course schedule. Users also can log in with their FlashLine credentials to register for upcoming sessions and view the courses they are enrolled in.
The fall TechHelp Train Your Brain series continues until Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Walk-in Wednesdays: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Kent State’s Division of Information Services also strives to meet Kent State's individual technology needs by continuing the "open-house" setting of Walk-in Wednesdays, walk-up tech training that does not require registration or an appointment.
While traditional Train Your Brain courses are held at scheduled times throughout the week, Walk-in Wednesdays focus on one-on-one technology training for those unable to attend scheduled sessions or those who want more personalized tech training.
Walk-in Wednesdays are located outside the Information Services Training Center in the Computer Lab at University Library on the Kent Campus. Services are available every Wednesday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
