Local Artists Sought for Main Street Kent’s Annual Art and Wine Festival

Organizers of the 11th Annual Main Street Kent Art and Wine Festival are seeking artists for the event, Saturday, June 3, from noon-10 p.m. in downtown Kent. The festival, which will take The 11th Annual Main Street Kent Art and Wine Festival will take place Saturday, June 3, from noon-10 p.m. in downtown Kent.place at the Hometown Bank Plaza and surrounding streets, will feature local artists, a variety of live entertainment and several Ohio wineries. The event is presented in partnership with Kent State University's College of the Arts. Proceeds will benefit Main Street Kent, the nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion, beautification and preservation of downtown Kent.

Main Street Kent is now accepting artist applications for original art only in the following categories: watercolor, oil/acrylic, clay, photography, sculpture, graphics/drawing, mixed media and others. Applications must be submitted along with a photo or digital examples of original art and the $75 application fee by the March 17 deadline. The student application fee is $35, and a copy of a student ID is required for consideration. Applicants who make this initial deadline will be given priority consideration in booth placement. The second-round application deadline is April 17. All artists are encouraged to apply, and application fees will be returned to those not selected by the jury. Applications received after April 17 will be considered based on category needs.
