Help Decide the People’s Choice Award at Kent State’s Three Minute Thesis Finals

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Finals are Friday, Oct. 27, from noon-2 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Kiva. The 3MT gives Kent State University graduate students just three minutes and one PowerPoint slide as tools to explain their research in a clear, engaging and concise manner. The exercise allows graduate students the opportunity to share their research with an interdisciplinary audience, consolidate their ideas and crystalize their research discoveries.Emily Mupinga, doctoral student in counselor education and supervision, presents her Three Minute Thesis in the 2016 Three Minute Thesis Finals.

Approximately 45 graduate students participated in the 3MT preliminary rounds last week, and the top presenters from each preliminary round are competing in the 3MT Finals.

The top four presenters will be awarded cash prizes of up to $500, and audience members will have the opportunity to cast their vote for their favorite presentation to determine the $200 People's Choice Award. All are invited to attend the 3MT Finals, and refreshments will be served. It will be a great opportunity to view research presentations from many outstanding Kent State graduate students in an educational and entertaining environment.
