Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences. As Dean of the College, I am privileged to be part of an exciting and talented team of faculty, researchers, and staff that strives for excellence in providing opportunities for students to learn through the creation of knowledge and service to the broader community. We celebrated our 80th Anniversary in 2010 and are building for our College Centennial in 2030; we are not too old to grow and change.

The heart of our college is the dedicated faculty who conduct original research, and who teach students in the classroom, in the laboratory, and in the community the skills, values, and wisdom of a liberal arts education. This education is the greatest gift the university can provide for the public good. Citizens who can think critically are the necessary ingredient for a healthy democracy.
