Jeffrey O'Leary

Jeffrey O'Leary is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History concentrating on late nineteenth-century U.S. history with emphasis on world's fairs, portrayals of the Irish, and imperial motherhood. He received his B.A. in history from Thiel College, earned a Certificate in Irish Studies from University College Cork, Ireland, an M.L.I.S. from the University of Pittsburgh, and an M.A. in history from Kent State University. His history master's thesis focused on the mindset of William Henry Seward as this related to American exceptionalism, republicanism, and the Fenian Brotherhood, particularly during Seward's tenure as secretary of state in the Lincoln and Johnson administrations.
