Lauren Cengel is a first year Master’s student and Teaching Assistant in the Department of History. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Wittenberg University with Honors, where her senior thesis argued that the queens of twelfth-century England should be considered partners in rule with their husbands the kings, and also traced the development of the office of queenship in twelfth-century England. At the Master’s level, she plans on focusing in Public History, specifically on making history, especially medieval history, more accessible to the public through museums. She hopes to be able to share her passion for history in a career of museum design and exhibition and/or museum administration.
