Bill Casale is a Master’s student and teaching assistant in the Department of History. His concentration is on the Civil Rights and African-American Freedom Movements, more specifically the Black United Students group at Kent State University. His research seeks to understand the formation of BUS at Kent State, their role in the 1960’s protest movement, the creation of the Pan-African Studies program, and the formation of an African-American identity at Kent State University in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. When not engaged in his research, Bill enjoys movies, listening to music, jogging, cooking, and being with family and friends.
