A & S Translation Professor and Graduate Student Participate in a Mammography Teaching Project to Jinotepe, Nicaragua
Radiology Mammography International, an Akron-based non-profit organization, recently completed a successful teaching project in the Regional Hospital Santiago in Jinotepe, Nicaragua, with the collaboration of a Kent State University’s translation faculty member and student.

Traveling Stanzas Poetry and Design Project at Kent State University
During the 2009 spring semester, eight posters were created for display on area buses and businesses. The project was well-received in the community and supported by Akron Metro Transit Authority, the PARTA bus system, City Bank Antiques, and Family & Community Services in Portage County.

Study: Kent State No. 1 in making physics interesting to non-science majors
Fall 2009 — New data on introductory physics class enrollments at universities nationwide have recently been released by the American Institute of Physics (AIP). On the basis of published AIP data averaged over the past decade, a study shows that the Kent State physics department ranks number-one in the US in making physics interesting and attractive to non-science majors. A closely related statistic also demonstrates that we are #1 nationwide in physics instructional productivity.

The Wick Poetry Center Announces The Maggie Anderson Fund
The Maggie Anderson Fund aims to assist talented writing students at Kent State University with writing-related travel expenses. Funds may be used to offset the costs attached to writer's conferences, workshops, and readings, as well as to establish exchange programs with other organizations.
