Kent State University at Ashtabula is an open admission campus, accepting prospective students from high school graduates, GED holders, and high school students admitted under the College Credit Plus Program (CCP) to present and former college students. 

When applying, you will find several application types offered: new freshman, transfer students, post-undergraduate students, and guest students.  Each admission category has its own requirements and application forms are available online or in the Student Services Office in Main Hall.

Information on Application Types 

Admission Policy for New Freshmen at Kent State Ashtabula
All seven of Kent State’s Regional Campuses are accessible to students who hold a high school diploma or GED.  Before you begin your application, it may be helpful to collect the following items to refer to:

  • Your official high school transcript or GED score report
  • ACT/SAT score, if you have taken it (not required for admission)
  • A list of prior colleges you have attended and transcripts
  • A credit card or checking account information to pay your $40 application fee

General Instructions

  • The application is divided into multiple sections to allow you the option of completing the application in one session or in multiple sessions. Click the "Finish Later" button to save portions of the application you have already completed.
  • To return to complete the application at a later time, just enter your Login and PIN.
  • To check your application status, click the "Check the Status of an Existing Application" button found on this page. Remember you will need your original Login and PIN to securely check your status.

Tip!
On the fourth question of the admissions application, be sure to select the Ashtabula campus, if this is where you intend to start your classes.
