Majoring in accounting provides you with the knowledge needed for a career in every business sector, industry and government.
An accounting degree can open the doors to almost any position within a business. You can choose to work in a public accounting firm, a corporation, a governmental agency, or a non-profit organization. You can specialize in auditing, taxation, management services and more.
The Accounting program was crafted to provide you with the foundation of knowledge necessary to gain entry-level accounting positions. The degree builds a foundation in practice and theory by working towards an understanding of common concepts, conventions, principles and theories. You will have the skills necessary to attain positions as certified public accountants, controllers, industrial accountants, institutional accountants and governmental accountants.
The Accounting minor is very useful if your career path is in business, not-for-profit or governmental organizations where dealing with financial issues will be an important part of your duties.
