Kent State University houses cutting-edge facilities including the Liquid Crystal Institute, which is considered a leader in liquid crystal technology and education. The liquid crystal display facility has 2,500 sq. ft. clean room space, which contains a prototyping line, the Lucent Technologies LCD Pilot Line and the W.M. Keck Clean Room used for thin film deposition. The facility has the capability to produce page size passive LCDs with full scale production equipment.
Centennial Research Park provides space and support for specialized companies to thrive and grow near the university and its other partners.
