Kent State's antimatter discovery named as one of "Top 5" at Brookhaven Lab during 2010
The nuclear group in KSU's Department of Physics played a leading role in the 2010 discovery of the heaviest known antinucleus, which was also the first antinucleus with a non-zero strangeness quantum number. In January 2011, this discovery received special recognition from the management of Brookhaven National Laboratory, where the experiments leading to the discovery were carried out.

Researchers Receive NSF Grant to Study Biomembrane Signaling Events
Dr. Arne Gericke (Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry) and Dr. Edgar E. Kooijman (Department of Biological Sciences) have received a $442,467 grant from the National Science Foundation to investigate the physicochemical foundations of lipid phosphomonoester group mediated signaling events.

Pan-African Studies Partners with Tri-C to Present Lecture Series
As part of a new collaboration with Cuyahoga Community College’s (Tri-C) Office of Student Life, Kent State University’s Department of Pan-African Studies presents a panel lecture “West African Muslim Societies and their Contributions to World and U.S. Culture” as part of the 2011-2012 Pan-African Studies lecture series at Kent State.

Kent State and Sidney-Shelby County Chamber Offer Succession Planning
Kent State University is teaming up with the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center at Edison Community College to present a workshop for small business owners on exit planning.
