Research Program on Mother-Child Relationships

Posted Oct. 30, 2009

A graduate student from the Department of Psychology conducts an interview with a mother and her child, as part of Dr. Josefina Grau's research program on mother-child relationships among Puerto Rican adolescent mothers. This research, funded by a 4-year grant from the National Institute of Child Health & Human Development, examines how family support and acculturation influence the cognitive and emotional development of children, with the goal of promoting successful outcomes among children of Latina adolescent mothers.
