Current and Former EHHS Students Honored at OAHPERD Annual Conference

The Ohio Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (OAHPERD), recently held its annual conference in Sandusky, Ohio, where current and former KSU EHHS students were honored. Pictured above from left to right, the honorees include:

  • The Memorial Scholarship award was given to Baylee DiCioccio, a current School Health, and Physical Education major.
  • Health Teacher of the Year, Matt Hagedorn, B.S.E., School Health Education (2003), M.Ed. Measurement & Evaluation (2008), currently teaches for Tallmadge City Schools.
  • Young Professional of the Year, Seth Mansell, B.S.E., School Health Education (2012), B.S. Physical Education (2012), currently teaches for Lordstown Local Schools.
  • Elementary Physical Education Teach of the Year, Lauren Wilson, B.S., Physical Education (2004), currently teaches for Twinsburg City School District.

The Ohio Physical Education Association dates back to 1895. The organization is credited as being the first state association recognized by the American Association for the Advancement of Physical Education. 

OAHPERD serves health, physical education, recreation, and dance professionals pre-k through higher education. The association is more than 600 people strong and is committed to the advancement of the profession. OAHPERD is affiliated with SHAPE America and SHAPE America Midwest District.
