Specialized Accreditation
Specialized accreditation of occupational/professional schools or academic programs is granted by agencies of accreditation established by national professional organizations.
These agencies accredit or recognize only specific programs, collection of programs, or colleges, not the entire institution. Specialized accreditation may also be referred to as program or professional accreditation in certain academic areas.
Kent State University currently has over one hundred academic programs that have sought specialized accreditation through various agencies. For additional information about Kent State University’s accredited programs and their accreditors, see the list of Academic Programs with Specialized Accreditation.
