STARS Program Description

Academic STARS is a 37-week program delivered in three phases, a Summer Institute, Fall and Spring semesters. The program begins with an intense seven-week Summer Institute designed to prepare students for their academic careers at Kent during a time where the pace is less hectic. Participants are provided an opportunity to earn seven credit hours of the University's Liberal Education Requirements. These courses include:

In addition to taking classes, students housed on campus with peer leaders who are responsible for enhancing the academic, personal, cultural, physical, and social development of each participant. Participants are also involved in study tables throughout the week and volunteer in Kent and surrounding communities.
