Kent State Hosts the 2014 Ohio Higher Education Computing Conference

Kent State University will host the Ohio Higher Education Computing Council’s 2014 Conference May 21 – 23 at the Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center in downtown Kent. The theme for this year’s event is “Embracing the Cloud.” More than 300 information technology professionals are expected to attend the annual conference.



Name of the New Kent State University Esplanade to Honor University President Lefton

The Kent State University Esplanade will be named the Lester A. Lefton Esplanade honoring Kent State President Lefton. The announcement was made Friday, Oct. 4, by Jane Murphy Timken, chair of the Kent State Board of Trustees, at a community event held at the new University Esplanade arch near Main and Willow streets in Kent.

The Kent State University Esplanade will be named the Lester A. Lefton Esplanade honoring Kent State President Lefton. The event celebrated the solid partnership between Kent State University and the city of Kent and the official opening of the University Esplanade extension that now connects the university to downtown Kent.

Joint Resolution Celebrates and Reaffirms Strong Town-Gown Ties Between Kent State and City of Kent

Meeting in the newly opened Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center and looking out at a downtown buzzing with new businesses, the Kent State University Board of Trustees joined with Kent City Council today (Sept. 18) to pass a joint resolution that celebrates and reaffirms the town-gown partnership that led to the revitalization of downtown Kent.
