Dr. Anne Jefferson - Assistant Professor in the Geology Department at Kent State

March 24: Dr. Anne Jefferson, an assistant professor in the Geology Department at Kent State, and her team have been asked by the National Parks Service to investigate why trees won’t grow on National Park land in NE Ohio which are on top of old mining sites.  Forest surrounds these places, but new plantings are not succeeding.  The Parks Service gave Kent State a chance to do long term research at these sites which will help not just locally, but nationally and beyond.
