Our Story

Since the inception of the Fashion School Store in downtown Kent in 2012, the stores has achieved many milestones.

 

2014     

  • Established FSSTORE curatorial team procedural document.

  • Most Market-Ready Award given to Kaitlyn Dugan during the Fashion School's 2014 Annual Fashion Show.

2015      

  • Moved to the store's location to 202 East Erie Street, Suite B, in Kent, where it currently resides.

  • Launched the Sew-a-Thon, a freshman sewing festival project created to enhance sewing skills and explore students' work at the retail setting.

  • Launched the annual limited edition Florence Scarf Collection.

  • Introduced St. Petersbug Jewelry Collection, a hand-made, genuine leather necklace collection crafted by local artisan Antonina Pakholkova.

2016    

  • Launched the limited edition of the Florence Tote Bag collection.

2017    

  • Relaunched the redesigned FSSTORE in April 2017, supported through a multidisciplinary educational project led by Daphne Peters, a former faculty member of the Kent State University School of Visual Communication Design. Learn more about the multidisciplinary educational project via this link.

2018     

  • For the very first time, offered mini-grant opportunities to Fashion School faculty to support their scholarly and pedagogical endeavors.

  • Established the Consignment Agreement to serve the local/regional small makers/designers/artisans exposure to the marketplace.
