JMC 67071 - Advising Student Media - 3 hours

Being a high school journalism adviser is not an easy task. Advisers walk a fine line in order to keep students happy, to keep faculty members happy and to keep parents and other members of the community happy. When advisers complete this course, their job should become easier. They should be able to direct their students to put out a publication that demonstrates students’ understanding of the First Amendment and their understanding of the role of the student press in a free society. Those in this class will create lesson plans, policies and procedures to make the job easier.
