Biography
Special Collections & Archives is home to one of the largest archives of primary sources and historical materials related to the Kent State shootings and their aftermath. The May 4 Collection, established by the Kent State University Libraries in 1970, includes more than 300 cubic feet of archival sources related to the Kent State shootings and their aftermath. The collection is open to the public and is used by researchers from around the world. More than 50,000 items from the collection are now available in digital format online, along with oral histories and audio-visual materials. Our archivists and librarians have in-depth expertise in assisting researchers, film makers, students and others to access archival resources associated with May 4.
