The College of Public Health is pleased to welcome the newest member of our family: Jen Washko, MAE, senior advisor II.
Former assistant director of the Academic Success Center working with Placement & Testing, during her time at Kent State she has taught Flashes 101 and coached the Peer Success Academy.
Washko has 10 years of academic advising experience, having worked at other institutions such as the University of Notre Dame, Ohio University, and the University of New Hampshire. Prior to working in higher education, she taught high school Spanish and coached volleyball and softball. She loves connecting with people and finds advising to be a great way to get to know students and help them develop and connect to whatever they're working toward (personally or professionally)!
She is an alumna of Heidelberg University where she studied Spanish and multi-age education, and has her master's from the University of Akron in instructional technology.
Washko's husband also works at Kent State, and they have a kindergarten son. They also have a dog and cat at home - Max (mini goldendoodle) and Grover (20 lb. cat)! She loves to spend time with her family, play games, craft, travel and be active.
You can find Jen Washko in Moulton Hall 123 or at jwashko1@kent.edu and 330-672-0995.
