The APHA meeting was also the occasion to present the performance “What We Learned While Alone: Global Voices Speak to the Pandemic”, sponsored by KSU College of Public Health, Healthy Communities Research Institute, and the Wick Poetry Center, with support from the Ohio Arts Council. The theatrical event, based on the anthology “Dear Vaccine: Global Voices Speak to the Pandemic'' published by The Kent State University Press, combines spoken word, music, movement, and digital dialogue to create an innovative interactive experience, culminating in a poem created with performers and the audience that celebrates what we have learned from our loss, what we praise, and what we hope for the future.
