Alumni Spotlight – Jason Zibart, ’18,
Care Coordinator at Tuscon Medical Center

Jason Zibart knew he wanted a career in public health when he chose Kent State. As a non-traditional student, he searched for a program that would best suit him and found his home in Health Services Administration. Jason was already working in a hospital and wanted to help patients before they ended up there. Today, he’s changing the industry.

Jason is currently a Care Coordinator at Tuscon Medical Center and is building a program at Tucson aimed at patient care. The program will utilize a care coordinator to provide patients with the best community-based resources and treatment options.

“The goal of the program is to meld the standard PCP approach with those traditional socioeconomic determinants of health concerns,” Zibart says. The program has not been named for release yet and is intended for a more high-risk patient level.

Zibart owes everything to Kent State. “By the end of the professional practice classes, I had a usable resume, cover letter, and all the preparation needed to get a job,” he said. He recalls a meeting on his first day of work. He understood everything and felt prepared to join a distinguished program. Starting a program like this is a dream come true for the Kent State alum. He volunteered to steer the program in the right direction and continuously strives to provide patients with the best care.
