Congratulations, Dr. Eng, Outstanding Teaching Award Recipient

Dr. Abbey Eng was honored with the University Teaching Council's Outstanding Teaching Award on October 13, 2021. Dr. Melissa Dyer and members of the CPH family surprised Eng in class with signage, balloons and flowers. The award recognizes outstanding full-time, non-tenure track and part-time faculty by awarding three educators with this most prestigious award across all campuses at Kent State.

Dr. Abbey Eng is an Associate Professor in the College of Public Health. Before coming to the College, she spent six years as the primary data analyst on multiple federally and locally funded program evaluations involving a variety of mental health, substance abuse, and juvenile justice programs in the Cleveland area. She also spent three years working as the project coordinator for an NIH-funded longitudinal survey research project examining adolescents' relationships with parents, peers, and romantic partners, as well as their HIV risk-taking behaviors. She teaches bio-statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate level. She is interested in mental health issues involving adolescents and their families and has worked on a number of research projects involving school-based prevention programs, as well as community-based prevention and treatment programs for both adolescents and adults. She is also interested in maternal health and is currently working on a grant involving mothers and infants in Northeast Ohio.

Congratulations, Dr. Eng, and thank you for your commitment to our students' success!
