Dr. Peggy Shadduck Reimagined Updates

Leadership Changes and New Roles in the Regional Campus System

Dear colleagues,

The Regional Campus System of Kent State University is pleased to announce recent organizational changes and introduce key personnel overseeing several essential functional areas.

Each of our four Campus Deans/CAOs will now focus on two locations within the Regional Campus System, in addition to guiding the entire system toward a successful future:

Update on Regional Campus Bookstore Operations

Dear Regional Campus Faculty and Staff,

We want to keep you informed about some key changes to the bookstore services at Kent State University, which are set to begin in summer 2024. As you know, our contracted partnership with Barnes & Noble continues to evolve in response to changing demands and preferences, notably the increased trend of students ordering their books online. In recent semesters, the regional campus bookstores have seen a slowdown in store traffic, with many students ordering their books online, resulting in operational inefficiencies for the bookstore group.

Regional Campus Advisory Boards April 25th Town Hall

Dear Regional Campus Advisory Board members,

Thank you for joining our April 25 Town Hall with President Todd Diacon and Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley. As members of advisory boards, one of the key aspects we value is your input, advice and guidance regarding community insights. Your familiarity with the communities we serve makes you an invaluable resource and advocate.

Updates from the March 8 Staff Town Hall

Dear Regional Campus System staff and administrators,

I want to take a moment to extend my sincere gratitude to each of you for attending the recent Regional Campus System Town Hall for Staff on March 8. Your presence and engagement were truly appreciated.

During the session, our aim was to address any questions you may have had. However, due to time constraints, some questions remained unanswered. I am pleased to inform you that we have compiled these unanswered questions, along with their corresponding answers, which you can access by clicking here.

Your Questions, Answered: Updates from the Feb. 23 Town Hall

Regional Campus System faculty, staff, and administrators —

Thank you for attending the recent Regional Campus System Town Hall on Feb. 23. Your participation and engagement are greatly appreciated.

As promised, we have worked over the past week to answer questions that were raised during the session but couldn’t be addressed due to time limitations.

Reorganization of Two Functional Areas in the Regional System: Feb. 13, 2024

Dear Regional System colleagues,

After valuable feedback from the Regional Campus Faculty Councils, the Campus Deans, the Provost and I have made decisions about reorganization of two functional areas – Business Affairs and Class Scheduling/Academic Support. Additionally, adjustments have been made concerning campus leadership.

At the suggestion of the Faculty Councils, we have stopped searches for new Dean/CAO positions for Ashtabula and East Liverpool/Salem. Instead, the existing individuals in campus Dean/CAO positions will now oversee two locations moving forward.

Thank you for your participation in Regional Campus Update Meetings: Nov. 15, 2023

Dear Regional Campus team,

I want to express my gratitude to all of you for the meaningful discussions we’ve had during our recent Regional Campus Update Meetings on November 3, 7, and 9. Your active participation and valuable insights contribute significantly to the vibrant community we have within the Regional Campus System.

I understand these discussions can be challenging, but it’s important we collectively work toward shaping a promising future for all Kent State campuses.

Update on Reimagining the Regionals: Oct. 20, 2023

Dear faculty and staff at Regional Campuses,

Here we are already in the middle of October!  Thanks for all of the hard work you are doing with our current students, and with getting people ready for spring semester as well.

I am sending this message to share some information about the latest developments and initiatives within the Regional Campus System. As we move forward, our collective efforts are instrumental in shaping a bright future for all of the Kent State campuses and the students we serve.

The Regional Campus System mission remains steadfast: to transform lives by providing access and opportunity to Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania residents. We understand the challenges our students face, and we are here to make excellent education accessible to them.
