Biography

Position:

I serve as the Interim Director for the Upward Bound Classic program. I provide coordination and assistance in the planning and management of the TRIO Upward Bound Classic program for college-bound high school students from Barberton, Warren G. Harding, and John R. Buchtel (Akron) High Schools.

Experience:

Before joining the Kent State University family, I spent 4 years with United Way of Central Ohio – focusing on the philanthropic sector. Following United Way, I’ve had the opportunity to work at Cristo Rey Columbus High School as a Professional Work-Study Coordinator, where I worked with students to help prepare them for professional success and gain valuable white-collar work experience. In 2015, I have also had the opportunity to create an organization that primarily focuses on collegiate access for underserved high school students, arranging college trips, assisting with application completion, college fairs, and ACT prep.

Favorite place on the Kent campus:

The Student Center, it is the heart of KSU's campus.

Best advice for students:

Learn to effectively network. It is immeasurably important to learn how to share your story, who you are, and your goals with those around you.
