Dean Tondiglia of Stow, Ohio, has been named Kent State University’s new chief of police. Prior to leading Kent State Police Services, Tondiglia most recently served as the university’s assistant chief of police and associate director of public safety. The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the Kent State University Scholarships for Broadening Participation in the Sciences Program with funding to annually provide 21 scholarships of $5,000 each for undergraduate students. Kent State’s Columbiana County Campuses sponsored the game ball when the East Liverpool High School boys’ basketball team hosted the Salem High School team in January. During pre-game activities, Dr. Steve Nameth, dean of the Columbiana County campuses, drew the winning ticket and presented the prize to Chelsea Reynolds, a freshman at ELHS. The game ball was signed by members of the East Liverpool team and listed Kent State as the sponsor. Kent State Salem students Austin Cope and Daniel Koehler recently facilitated a Justice Talking seminar for science club members at East Palestine High School. Cope is a junior majoring in psychology and Koehler is a senior majoring in early childhood education.
