Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University’s outdoor, summer theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, will open its 48th season with the regional premiere of “Sister Act.”

Kent State's School of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) earned two national Mark of Excellence Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. 

Kent State University at East Liverpool recognized the academic achievements of several students during its annual Wall of Fame and Honors Banquet, as well as the support from community members.

Dr. Beverly Warren will remain president of Kent State University through at least 2020. On May 11, the Kent State University Board of Trustees voted to extend Warren’s employment agreement through June 30, 2020.

“Kent State has developed tremendous momentum under President Bev Warren’s exceptional leadership,” said Dennis Eckart, chair of the Kent State Board of Trustees. “Extending Bev’s contract expresses our strong confidence in her leadership and the university’s direction. She is critical in enabling us to meet our key goals going forward.”

Kent State University at Salem recognized the academic achievements of several students during its annual Student Awards Ceremony, as well as faculty, staff and community members.

Flash Market

Kent State University at Salem is holding its inaugural Flash Market, a trunk and treasure event that will provide area residents a venue to sell and/or buy items. It will take place outdoors on the Salem Campus, 2491 St. Route 45 South, on Saturday, June 25 from 8 a.m to 1 p.m.

Flash Market is a fundraising effort to support Kent State’s Rural Scholars program.

Sellers can rent spaces for $15 each, or two for $25, if registered in advance. The cost is $20 per space the day of the event. Each space will accommodate a car, pickup, van or SUV. 

Summer Intersession

Intersession Starts Monday, May 23 and ends Friday, June 10 2016.
