The National Institute of Nursing Research at NIH has awarded Biological Science's Min-Ho Kim  a $1,842,350 five-year grant to develop “nanobombs”, a nanotechnology-based therapeutic platform, that can treat biofilm infection in chronic wounds.  Kim notes: "we hope to establish a novel platform for “smart” treatments for the management of antibiotic-resistant chronic wound infections". The Kent State University Mass Notification System will undergo campuswide testing on Wednesday, May 13, between 6 and 6:30 p.m. The testing is required due to updates to the system that will expedite the process of alerting campus to threats and improve the overall ease of use.
