Pre-K Special Needs Endorsement Preparation

Pre-K Special Needs Endorsement is designed for licensed teachers who wish to add an area or specialization in early childhood special education specific to inclusive preschool. If you add this endorsement, you can teach in an Ohio public preschool, which is a special education unit funded by the federal government. The Pre-K Special Needs Endorsement is based on the competencies identified by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).

The EINT Certificate Program provides students with the skills and knowledge to work with young children with disabilities (birth to age three) and their families. The EINT Program utilizes the Division for Early Childhood’s Recommended Practices for early intervention personnel development that are family-centered, evidence-based, and provided in the family’s natural environment.

The BISC program concentrates on the theoretical orientation and practical applications of applied behavior analysis. In addition, the Behavior Certification Board, Inc. (BACB) has approved our course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination (BCBA).

The ASD Certificate Program is an interdisciplinary program between Special Education and Speech Pathology & Audiology. This certificate program prepares students for understanding and addressing the needs of individuals with ASD across the spectrum and over the lifespan, in varied contexts including general and special education classrooms, and community settings.

The Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine will undergo a reaccreditation process for its Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) program by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) in 2024. The CPME site evaluation team will visit the campus from September 23rd to September 26th, 2024.
