The Kent State University Board of Trustees approved resolutions that advance programs for students studying aeronautics during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held June 28 on the Kent Campus.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees approved the establishment of six new majors during its regular quarterly meeting held March 9 in Columbus, Ohio, at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. Five of the new majors fall under the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, and one falls under the College of Arts and Sciences.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting on Thursday, March 9, at 9:30 a.m. in the Robinson Room on the second floor of the Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph, 620 N. High St., in Columbus, Ohio, to consider the recommendations of the standing committees, proposed personnel actions and new business.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new master’s degree that will help meet two decades of sustained growth in the broad field of conflict studies. The new Peace and Conflict Studies major within the Master of Arts degree will be offered in person on the Kent Campus and will prepare students for careers as practitioners in the fields of peace and conflict management and for doctorate study.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees welcomed the Class of 2026 at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Sept. 21 at the Kent State University Airport. Kent State’s freshman class began classes on the Kent Campus nearly 7% larger than the previous year with 4,251 students – the eighth largest incoming class in the university’s 112-year history.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Haley Dees of Lisbon, Ohio, to the Kent State University Board of Trustees as an undergraduate student trustee. Dees’ two-year term runs through May 16, 2024.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Christian Palich of Plain City, Ohio, to the Kent State University Board of Trustees. Palich will serve through May 16, 2031. Palich earned his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2009 from Kent State.
