For three short minutes on April 8, our world stood still.

Rising Scholars NASA Hunch Team

A team of Rising Scholars from Kent State Columbiana County earned a spot in the finals of the NASA HUNCH culinary competition at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. The scholars will compete with teams from around the country on April 17 to determine if their culinary creation will be a future meal selection for astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

Campus and community came together to share a once-in-a-lifetime event at Kent State University.

It was a party 218 years in the making.

The thousands of people who came to Kent State University on April 8 to witness the total solar eclipse did not leave disappointed by the celestial show, the likes of which had not been seen in Kent, Ohio since 1806.

The excitement has been building for more than a year, and the day is finally upon us!

The brightly colored blue and gold Mobile Flashes Wellness Unit from Kent State University’s College of Public Health will be hitting the streets to help bring public health services to the people of northeast Ohio.

Update Recycle Eclipse Glasses

After the eclipse, Flashes can do their part to promote sustainability  by recycling their eclipse glasses for use by viewers of future eclipses around the world.
